Winterishy

Well, got a little dusting of snow, which is kind of nice. It was getting a little brown and murky out. Perfect temp for a little snow play; I don't like taking Penny out if it's really really cold. She tolerated it today, hanging out in her little sled, but I don't think she really gets the point of why we're outside. Jane really enjoyed herself today; she was shoveling, pulling Penny around, and trying to throw snowballs at me. Luckily for me, she's not too good at that yet!

Back from workout #2, I think the leg stuff we did is going to hit a little harder than the arms from Monday. I was really sore this morning; I remembered that it often hits on the second day, not the day after. But I am feeling much better with the whole eating thing, which is a relief. I think even not quite as hungry, which might be that I'm just not interested in eating salad! Forcing down plain yogurt for breakfast seems to be a bit easier on me then eggs right off the bat.

Tomorrow is a busy day, dr appt for Penny, ballet, pre-school, then another work out-whew, I'm going to be ready for bed when I get home!

Worked out and didn't die!

Back from my first work-out. I didn't die. Wasn't even as bad as I thought it was going to be, probably partly due to me walking slowly on the treadmill (yet faster than was recommended). All upper body today. I am sure I will be feeling it all tomorrow, though. They do tell us to eat some protein right afterward to alleviate muscle soreness the next day, so we'll see how my almonds and hard boiled egg worked out.

Feeling much better tonight. Very very tired yesterday evening (first day on the cleanse), and kind of nauseated this morning...maybe due to the eggs for breakfast. Or due to the fact that the house is still swimming in germs.

Poor Penny is such a mess. She's still coughing a bit and still has a little bit of a runny nose. She's on amoxicilyn for an ear infection, but that doesn't seem to be having any residual effects on the rest of her cold symptoms. Unfortunately. It is super duper fun trying to get her to take the medicine. She knows it's coming now and starts thrashing around before I even start. Ugh. Sucks. She did have fun at Babygarden today at the library. (I'm assuming that since we're 1/2 way through the anti-biotics she's not that contagious. Hopefully.) Did both cringe and kind of do a really grown-up 'might just serve you right' when the little boy who was closer to 2, who had been wrenching toys out of other kids hands and throwing balls, some at/near Penny, decided to grab the shaker bottle toy that Penny had been chewing on...and put it right in his mouth. (His parents were not stepping in besides saying his name or sighing loudly-his Dad actually just said, he's only 2). I get that at 2 he might not 'get' the sharing concept, but it doesn't mean you just let him rip things away from babies and do nothing. Ahh, 'playground' politics, this is the drama in my life!

Off to see the wizards...

Back from the open house for the fitness Challenge I'm starting on Monday. Runs 10 weeks.

1st step-cleansing diet. No sugar. No carbs. Organics are a must. Even my fizzy mommy water as jane calls it is out. No fruit either for 7 days. Mmmm, lettuce.

Off to make a grocery list and menu for the week.

Face book Vacuum

So I got sucked into the facebook vacuum and haven't posted or updated this in a very very long time. Girls are good. Jane has declared she wants to be an adult, and uses that as an excuse for my contacts which she dumped into the sink; Daddy's glasses that she stole and put in her nightstand drawer; the hairgel she had gunking up her hair; and the bathroom cleaner she sprayed all over her towel. Good times, good times. I'm sure that Penny will do none of this. Please please please let her do none of this stuff. It's worth asking, isn't it?

Here's a clip of Penny really enjoying the cookie container from Gram Sandee.

Just fun.

Great morning-girls were in better moods today-sleep can do that! Running around and having fun. I made some pancakes, and who doesn't love that for breakfast. After getting the little ones settled and the big ones hyped up for time with Grandma, Jenny & I went to the outlet for a little while with the babies. Got a few deals for the kiddos and nice to get some time to chill with the little ones and do some adult type stuff like shopping. Without fighting. Jane has pretty much reached the age where she's got to be in a really good mood or have lots of incentives to do a much shopping-and with 2 kids--I find that I don't have much attention left for the actual shopping. Any opportunity to go without is awesome.

Typical day...

Today was probably a pretty normal day when you get 4 kids under the age of 4 together at once! Kids running around like crazy, learning to share, feeding and holding babies, the occasional tantrum from the older girls, and some yummy breakfast casserole. Barely contained chaos. And I'm sure it's only going to get better since two of them mostly just sleep and eat right now-they don't move unless we move them! We didn't make it out of the house before it was time for Averie's nap. So attempted to put her down (she was less than thrilled), Gram D & Arlyn took a nap, and the rest of us watched the Jungle book. Got out to a little art show in Howell, kids got a balloon puppy, and then some ice cream. Park after that--pretty chilly outside today, but they needed to run off a little energy. Feels like fall or something. Not sure we really had summer yet! By the time we got home from that Averie was done with a capital D. Managed to get some food into everyone and we went home. Jane was ready for bed early since she didn't have a nap either.

Weekend at Gram D's

Jenny brought the girls down for the weekend to hang out at Gram Deb's house. Tonight's activity-music in the park in Howell. Crazyface Averie would rather have visited a huge field where she could run free. Jane was a dancing machine. Nice evening... Much better than the day--during which Jane hacked a piece of her hair off when I was vacuuming in the basement. :( Not horrible looking, I suppose, but horrible that it happened! You can kind of see the 'long bangs' in this photo. I guess she gets her first haircut soon--get it all evened out a little bit.
