St.Patrick's Day

Never done much to celebrate St.Patrick's Day around here, but the three of us did manage to get into green t-shirts. I was trying to tell Jane about it in the car, and she said, "Ummm, I don't really like that name, let's call it, umm TREE Day instead." Okeeey. Did get her car out for the first time this season, and after the initial spaz out about not being able to turn, and just finally letting her do her thing (which involves her getting too close to the edge of the driveway and not turning the wheel, but getting out of the car and picking up the front of it to move it back the direction she wanted) she got better at it all. Put Penny in with her, she was kicking (excited), and in charge of adjusting the 'radio' and running the 'cb'.

Here comes trouble!!

1/2 way through...

5 weeks through my Challenge program and I'm down 21 pounds and I've lost 18" (cumulative measurements). Pretty cool. Thinking my jeans are definitely getting a bit roomy, which is great. Contemplating doing the 3-Day walk for breast cancer this summer in Detroit-3 days, 60 miles! Figuring it would be an awesome challenge, and that i'll be in even better shape by then.

Penny is crawling all over the place and pulling up and even starting to cruise around the furniture. She also has hit the attachment phase where she would really rather that I carry her around than set her down to play. Loves her puffs (Mike's been calling them baby crack-which has kind of stuck--just hoping Jane doesn't start talking about how we give the baby 'crack' when she's chatting with her preschool teachers!)

It is a very sad day today, we'll be attending the funeral for Mathew Cieslinski this afternoon. He is the son of our close friends Mike and Lori, he was born over 2 months early, and fought very hard for 3 months. He will be missed tremendously. We are grateful for the time they had, but wish it would have been much more.

It is a beautiful day with spring in the air...
